Wilton Plays Key Role In Licencing Process

An Isle of Man professional service advisor has played an instrumental role in obtaining an eGaming licence for an established client.

Trust and Corporate Service provider Wilton, whose local operation is based in Athol Street, Douglas, assisted 5D and Island Casino (5D International) with its application to the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission (GSC).

It will see the online sportsbook, games and casino business create jobs on the Island after the GSC approved the licence in principle.

Wilton’s Managing Partner Tony Flanagan commented: ‘We are extremely proud to have supported 5D International in its licence application and one which has the potential to provide an exciting opportunity for the Isle of Man in general and our gaming sector in particular.

‘Holding an Isle of Man licence offers credibility in the market place and further promotes the Isle of Man as a strong, forward-thinking and pro-active licencing jurisdiction.’

‘The Isle of Man’s reputation for excellence and innovation is attracting more and more companies in niche areas of e-Gaming and our supportive ecosystem and financial aid on offer is helping them to thrive when they arrive.’

Executive Director, Nicole Hewson, added: ‘As a financial services company which prides itself on establishing long-lasting relationships with business partners and clients, we enjoyed working alongside 5D, a business which clearly is committed to the Isle of Man.’

5D International Ltd, which was established in June 2020, will outsource a number of support services to local quality service providers, including hosting, accounting, audit, legal and marketing.

The operation stems from a long-established and commercially successful online gaming business – 5Dimes – which was formed in Costa Rica, in November 1999, offering top-of-the-line software and unique gaming opportunities.

With a reputation, from a player perspective, of being trustworthy and putting the player first, with 24 hour customer service, reliable payouts and secure transactions, 5Dimes attained a global revenue of US$120 million in 2019.

Described by the Offshore Gaming Association website as providing the ”Gold standard in online sports betting”, its offshoot has pledged to become one of the leading international eGaming platforms, catering to players from the £25 bet to the larger player across multiple jurisdictions.

5D International aims to establish a management and operations base in the Isle of Man, covering functions such as compliance, customer support, administration and finance and operations support.
